What Does Being In Remission Mean ?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Springfield, MA

I have MCL and just recently had a 3rd PET scan which showed I was significantly improved. My oncologist told me I was in remission and I was to start maintenance therapy on 6/12. I have a Doctor appointment the same day before this to explain all of this. Till then my anxiety and a new anger issue has arisen. I think I read too much and haven’t figured out what “remisssion “ means. Are they trying to keep the lymphoma from coming back or are they trying to prolong my life. Very confused and I… read more

Lymphoma Stage

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Los Angeles, CA

I noticed my oncologist has down graded my lymphoma to stage 1. But on PETscan it was clearly bigger and spread ,now in inguinal nodes bilaterally, extertilliac chain, axilla and abdominal. And have symptoms which will not say they are because of lymphoma

Does anyone know why he would do this?
I haven’t had treatment at all, he won’t give it yet. All he keeps saying is he has seen patients with more and nodes hanging off.

A MyLymphomaTeam Member

Thank you. I found that he had done that in portal, so when I see him again I will ask.
