Type Of Diet Is Preferable During R-chop Protocol Treatment
I completed 6 rounds of R-CHOP on 11/8/22. I was fortunate because I did not lose my appetite or suffer fatigue. I did experience dry mouth. While I did not change my diet, most foods did not taste right. I did drink a lot of water with meals. Toast tasted better than dry bread. For whatever reason most fruit continued to taste good. Biotene lozenges and toothpaste helped. Sugarless hard candies and gum also helped. By the end of January food tasted better and I was producing saliva. I do not think there is an easy way through chemotherapy. What you do need to know is that it finally end, you ring the completion bell and things gradually get better.
With RCHOP, I did not have much of an appetite. I ate what sounded and tasted good.
I didn't change my diet except for lots of water and fiber, for constipation. My doctor strongly recommended a plant based diet. At the time I felt changing my diet was too much pressure. A lot of the time I was too exhausted to cook. Also, I was blessed to have many friends who brought me and my husband meals, and I never look a gift horse in the mouth! Now that I'm done treatment as of January 2023, I am making the change.
Thanks a lot TC 48 I am happy for you and please pray for me
