Has Anyone Improved Their Disease With Diet?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Alabama

I am recently diagnosed with grade 1-2 FL. I will have my first pet scan Tuesday. If put on W&W I hope to drastically change my diet to see if it helps. Has anyone in W&W improves FL with diet and excercise?

Look into Keto diet it is said to help and at times reversed cancer Low carb and sugar free as possible great for helping with weight loss 👍🏻 Dr Eric Berg is a great believer in this diet.

Yes!!! The day after my diagnosis, I went right into the research to educate myself on SLL and the wait and watch approach. Then I implemented the Mediterranean Diet and called MD Anderson in Houston, Tx for an appointment to confirm the initial diagnosis and check to make sure SLL was the only issue. My nightly research indicated that Omega-3 Fatty Acids had a positive impact on SLL but more research was needed. Since then, I have eaten only plant-based food, all colored vegetables and fruit; mostly Salmon due to its high content of Omega-3 fatty acids (for which the research indicates good results); and included a naturopathic doctor as an adjunct to my treatment team. Six months later at my second scan, the lymph nodes had not increased in size. Yesterday, at my 3rd scan, not only had the lymph nodes not increased in size, but most had SHRUNK in size. I highly recommend a Mediterranean diet (fruits, veggies, and salmon)!

After being diagnosed last February, I started following Chris Wark (chrisbeatcancer.com) and followed his plan of all plant-based. There is A LOT of information on how a plant-based diet improves many health issues including reversing/healing cancer. I still have enlarged lymph node(s) under my arm but otherwise doing very well. I've not had any repeat scans since my original one a year ago. Other good resources are Michael Greger and Robert Miller (lymphomasurvival.com).
