I had my stem cel transplant March 28 2023. It took two and a half weeks just to prep for it. Then I spent 21 days in the hospital. My oncology doctor has been very pleased with my blood results. I am supposedly in the mission at this time. I am on a maintenance program for my chemotherapy. I have to do chemotherapy once every 2 months and I have to see my oncology doctor every 2 months. I guess that's a good thing. It's taken almost a year to get my energy level back up to normal. Will keep everybody posted on what's going on.

The stem cell transplant worked for two years. This was during the height of Covid, so everyone was being careful and staying away from each other.

Thanks Tim, my husband has already loss his hair as with his chemo and I gather most chemotherapies one looses your hair which seems like the better of the side affects that can occur. Stem cell transplants are best in the hospital to keep down infections according to his oncologist and if needed that is what my husband will do. But did your stem cell work? Also once home I heard one has to stay away from people like 4 months. I know all this is a journey for you and others going through these treatments. Stay well. Healing Hugs

I had an autologous transplant in September 2020 for MCL. In October of 2022 my WBC was through the roof. I have relapsed and am now waiting for CAR-T therapy. I wouldn’t have even known I was sick, but it showed up in my quarterly check up. The STEM Cell transplant was performed during COVID. I was required to stay in hospital for 20 days. It is an outpatient procedure though. Worse thing for me was the hair loss during conditioning treatment before the transplant. I lost all my hair, all at once. It does grow back! Good luck!
