What’s Next After Remission?
After the news that you are in remission, did you go back to the normal things in life? Traveling, flying, cruises and etc? We are still wondering if we should be cautious?
I guess I am one of the lucky ones, Large B Cell NHL I had radiation and chemo RCHOP, then 4 spinal infusion of Methotrexate, and 15 months remission, turned 80 and no ill effects , guess it’s my Irish heritage or the wine. I read, quilt, play Mah jong , work 1000 piece jig saw puzzles, son gave Grand Canyon being I am in AZ hardest puzzle I have worked, i bake try new recipes the neighbors love me,.I also try and get out and walk also. My husband of 60 years is in memory care In WA so I fly out every other month to see him, I had to put him in , as knew I couldn’t do both in the fall of 2021 .
I know it’s always going to be on our minds. His Oncologist told us to enjoy our lives as much as we can. We are praying he will continue to stay in remission.
I try to do the things I've always enjoyed but it's always in the back of my mind that it could relapse at any time and I still have good days and bad days. My bad days are mostly because of fatigue but I often wonder if it's from lymphoma or the fact that I'm getting older. I'll be 62 soon.
Thank you all! I pray that each one of you get the same results. I know we will remain cautious and hope we can start enjoying life again.
Thank you,
Donna
Hi Barbara8 - couldn’t agree more 🤗
Although remission for me the first time was difficult. I missed the proverbial fight. Depression kicked in.
