I had first round of chemo the first week of November and I had no nausea problem. I’m only guessing but it would depend on what medication you are getting. I had a port put in yesterday and had some discomfort and pain but today I’m feeling better. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving

The port doesn't hurt and I don't even need the lidocaine for them to access it. For me the nausea was unbearable for 2 weeks after the chemo but third week out there's still days I need Zofran. The first few days and this is weird the only thing I could eat or drink was iced caramel macchiato and I don't even like sweet coffee something about the bitter and sweet worked. But once the nausea eased the mouth sores started. I suffered for days before calling my doctor. Don't suffer as soon as you get a symptom ask for something. I used lidocaine gel and carafate mixed and it worked. Everyday is something new and to call it a journey seems accurate. And it's different for everyone. Good luck on your journey.

Hey James! I wasn't nauseous with chemo but I did get mouth sores in my mouth and throat I ended up in the hospital but I got that under control. My port wasn't to bad.... just keep your care team informed they have medication for effects...take care of yourself!

Hi James , the port isn’t sore as such going in just nippy/burning!, and uncomfortable, nauseous is one of the biggest side effects from chemo, but they provide you with anti sickness meds! …. Good luck 🤞
