How To Help Sore Throat From Radiation

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hamilton, ON

I started radiation from my neck to my diaphragm and my throat is really starting to get sore. It’s hard to swallow both food and drink and Advil seems to only help a little bit.. does anyone have any suggestions for making the pain more bearable? I don’t even want to drink water during the day and I feel like now I’m going to be constantly dehydrated

I did’t have radiation but I had small mouth sores from chemo. My doctor prescribed “magic mouthwash” that really helped. It contained lidocaine which requires a prescription. Suggest you ask your doctor.
