Does Anyone Experience Weight Gain Immediately After Chemo With No Chang In Diet Or Food Intake?

Houston, TX

I observed my weight jumped 8 pounds within days of second round of chemo with no change in food intake. In fact food intake is reduced due to loss of appetite and taste.

I gained weight because of the steroids. Everything iside your body is in turmoil now due to the chemo, medications you are taking. You probably wont notice all of the changes going on inside your body. This is why you have labs prior to each treatment. It is important to eat. Even if you aren’t hungry, and you cant taste. Get up and move around as much as you can. This will help alot. ❤️🙏🏻

I have gained about 20 pounds and I didn’t change my way of eating also. I can’t seem to loose anything. I’m in doing the maintenance now and still have a year to go. I’m hoping I may go back to normal once I’m done.

AkhilBansal,
Hi! I always seemed bloated after my chemo. I always attributed it to all the fluids I was given. After a few days it would disapate. Kelly
