I Am 1st Stage DLBNH. I Was Told By Oncologist After Last Scan I’m Cured. I Said Doc You Mean In Remission Right.
So my question is, has anyone been cured, made it past 5 years or more without cancer showing up any where in their body.

I don’t know but sounds like you have reason to be hopeful. Wishing you the absolute best.
Catching it at Stage 1 is really good. However, many types of NHL have a likelihood of recurring. I think your oncologist would have been more correct in saying that you were in remission with NED (no evidence of disease). I had surgery to remove the obstruction my Stage 1E NHFL (another type of B cell Lymphoma) caused but my oncologist did not even use the word remission until after 2 years of no recurrence and has told me that NHFL is not considered curable (although it is treatable). I agree with KellyS - I would say that you would need to be CA free for a minimum of 5 years....
Theresa6,
Hi! My oncologist at the Cleveland Clinic stated that if I make it 5 yrs without a relapse she can say I'm cured. I have/had DLBCL stage IV. I've been in remission for 2 1/2years. She said our chances of returning is never zero. That everyone in the US has a chance of getting lymphoma. But, at 5 yrs Mt chances are in line with the rest of the US. Kelly
I don't know.

Has There Been Any Research In Eastern (asian) Therapy In Conjunction With Oncology Treatments?
