Last B And R Treatment 3mo Ago. Big Increase In My Husband’s LD Level From Oncology Appt Yesterday. He’s Not Having Any Worsened Symptoms.
The oncologist didn’t mention this increase in LD at the appointment, I can’t remember if that’s a result that comes in right away. My husband is a warrior; he’s working 40hrs/wk, tries to walk/run 5-10 miles a day, and generally has an optimistic attitude. He pretty much crashes at home and rests as he needs. I’m the one who pays attention to the labs and numbers. This increase LD has me concerned. We may hear from the doctor today and if not I’ll reach out, but in the meantime I’d like to ask… read more
Jo4,
Good luck on his labs. Kelly
Do LDH test again, and it will give you an idea. If it shows an increasing trend, then you probably need to worry. If LDH level is stable or reducing, then I don't think its a bad news.
Hello Jo4, my husband's LDH is currently 374...I visited the doctor, and he said if there is no continuous increase in LDH then there is no need to worry. However, I am also a bit worried. You need to check other symptoms as well. LDH can elevate due to other reasons as well. Please let me know what your doctor says.
Jo4,
Hi ! I have/had treatments of RCHOP chemo and have/had DLBCL stage IV. I too watch my blood work closely. My LDH went down after treatments. It's stayed in a normal range. I guess it depends on the increase. For example, mine stays in the normal range but 2 times ago it was 163 and a week ago it was 203. When I was diagnosed it was 693. If you have any question I would call and talk to the nurse. Kelly
I’m sure the oncologist will check that next month’s visit. Waiting is hard…
