I asked for a second opinion and my primary oncologist arranged for one. There was no sense, at all, that she was insulted by my request and, in fact, seemed to welcome it.
You know... you're very kind to think you may be offending your Dr.... I am sure your Dr. understands that second opinions allows a patient some reassurance that ...yes... your diagnosis is what it is. They are trained to understand your overwhelming concern. Your Nurses and Dr. are more concerned with you and not their ego..
you are your own advocate..ask questions and be involved with you journey.🙏🏻🙏🏻
They are professionals and should not be insulted by someone asking for a second opinion. My husband had pancreatic cancer and asked for a second opinion from a doctor specializing in it and my husbands oncologist and the specialist consulted together on his care from then on. Also when my husband's oncologist's dad came down with pancreatic cancer, the oncologist sent his dad to the same specialist!
