Has Anyone Found Flesh Colored Bumps (I Have 2) Over Their Chest Port Site? Were You Told What These Bumps Are And Should I Be Concerned?

The bumps (no head) look and feel like a pimple that hasn't popped. These bumps don't hurt and I wouldn't have noticed them but I happened to look down at the site.

My port has three hard bumps in a triangle just under the skin. They have a kind of white tip, but not like a pimple, it’s the bumps on the port stretching up under my skin. It’s also been kind of blue-ish and bruised-looking over that spot since the day I got it (I’ve got really pale skin). I’ve hated it since day 1; it feels like an alien trying to poke out of my chest. Perhaps you could just ask your oncologist or an infusion nurse if it looks “normal” to them. They’ve seen a lot more of these suckers than any of us have or ever will!

Other than painful lymph nodes, I haven’t experienced pain and haven’t heard of pain as a symptom of lymphoma.
Chemo was a drag and I resented giving it my time. Discomfort can be treated; I had mouth sores (suck on ice during chemo if you get them), constipation (Miralax), nausea (they gave me meds) and increasing tiredness (I spent a lot of time in bed).
My sister had a horrible experience with chemo but that was 1979. Things have come a long way since then. I had panic attacks after witnessing that and have taken meds for them ever since. I feared cancer so so much, but as it turned out, I wasted a lot of energy being afraid because my experience was a picnic compared to hers. If you find a way to calm your fear, use it. When I find myself afraid it works for me to stop and realize I’m feeling afraid of things that might not ever happen. Then I turn my attention to something else. It took me a lot of practice to learn to do that.
Good luck going forward. 💖

My port is only a few weeks old so the suture line is still there. I have a bumpy area. I go for my follow up with the surgeon who placed it tomorrow.

If I were you I would contact my DR. just to be sure, better safe than sorry.

Cindy,
I responded well to chemo, I didn't lose my hair or had skin issues. I was nauseous for about a week after, more like being car sick. It was worth it. My lymph nodes have been reduced to normal range. Don't let fear prevent you from treatment. I am glad I didn't.
