Do You Have An Autoimmune Disease Or Are You Immunocomprised In A Way That Makes Treatment Not Work As Well For You?
I have lupus, an autoimmune disease, so Rituxan or other immunotherapy drugs, or chemotherapy would give me 5 to 30% chance of remission...So I don't think it's worth the horrible side effects...But what alternative therapies could work? Hi Linda, Thanks for your comment, but I asked if anyone is immunocomprised or has an autoimmune disease that makes treatment not work as well...I have lupus and it affects treatment.
I'm glad you're feeling good.
I had Rituxan twice, 15 yrs apart, each time for 6 months., and did not find it toxic. Not all all. The chemo I had along with it had side effects. .1 hr before Rituxan I took ex strength Tylenol, and a passel of pill from the nurse before the IV, no side effects and it saved my life--twice. I am now 78 and healthy. Everything has a good effect and a bad effect, even aspirin. Rituxan, since about 1998! has been a miracle for blood cancers, before it a lot of us would now be dust. Watch and wait until the NHL effects your life is an option, but listen to your oncologist.
I'm immunocompromised. Due to the chemo I took years ago. A two edged sword so to speak. But my treatments all go well.
