Has Anyone Underwent CAR-T Therapy ? What Side-effects One Experiences Following The Therapy And For How Long?
My R-CHOP chemo regime is partial success and doctors are preparing for CAR-T therapy. So looking forward to what to expect.
I considered CarT therapy but decided to do one of the new bi-specific’s instead. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/resources-information....
I am sorry to learn about “partial success,” I received my 2nd R-CHOP on April 2nd. Hang in there…
Yes, I chose to get in a clinical trial for the bi-specific called Epcoritimab because there is no pretreatment requirement for further chemotherapy. My understanding for CART is (and I hope your doctor told you everything that will happen) the patient gets more chemo to kill all your existing T cells before they reinfuse you with the new supercharged T cells. Also, CAR-T is not showing a long remission duration for bulky tumor burden which I still have. R-CHOP had reduced the metabolic activity of my FNHL but did not eliminate the large lymph node tumors. In just a couple months the metabolic activity started to come back. But I may have to do CART in the future if the bi-specific doesn’t work. My first PET scan for this new treatment is next week.
@A MyLymphomaTeam Member, thanks for your response. Can you share what made you choose Lunsumio over CAR-T? My doctor suggested some round of radiation while we are waiting for CAR-T
Tina, What bi-specific are you doing? I am doing one too for Epcoritimab and all is going well in my 4th week. I’m in the same boat. You are not out of options! New therapies are coming out to replace R-CHOP chemo which is harsh on the body. The whole pharmaceutical industry is pouring tons of money into indolent NHL. Good Things are happening. We must stay positive and trust! Let’s help each other!
