It was explained - They’re both B cell cancers. In NHL, you have a proliferation of a population of abnormal B cells. In Hodgkin’s you have a smaller number of malignant B cells (the Reed-Sternberg cells) that sort of manipulate the other healthy B cells through cytokine signaling.

Classically Hodgkin’s will have just one or a few enlarged lymph nodes and more severe B symptoms, versus NHL which will have more diffuse lymphadenopathy and fewer systemic signs,

Also NHL describes a lot of different lymphomas (Burkitt, mantle cell, etc) , so they’re far more diverse in presentation and hard to generalize.
