Thanks for your reply and advice, I hope you continue to see that the cancer is gone. I understand your being anxious. I experience the same type of fears, not that it interferes with my life but still there. I will be getting in touch with my Oncologist soon. I feel fortunate that mine was discovered so soon.☺️
t
And you as well.
Bless you xxxxxxxx
I have terrible allergies, so when my eye swelled last spring, it was no surprise. My doc put me on prednisone, and the swelling diminished. It came back as soon as I was finished with the prednisone. We tried more prednisone. Same result. I had an MRI, and the radiologist thought that I had metastatic breast cancer to the orbit.( I would have been dead by now if it had been.) By the time I was properly diagnosed through a biopsy several weeks later, I was Stage IV. It had spread to my forehead, dura mater and nose. I had terrible pain in the bones of my face.. I went to Mayo in Rochester because the oncologists around me had not treated orbital lymphoma. . My doctor in Rochester drew up a treatment plan for me to follow with a local oncologist. He told me that we were going for a cure. I had six treatments of the new drug regimen of pola r chp. I was so, so sick throughout. I had the first PET scan after three treatments, and there was no evidence of cancer present. I had another in March that showed the same. I feel well, but anxious. As I told my husband last night, I think every pain in my head is the lymphoma coming back. I think it is because when I was on chemo, I felt as though I was fighting it. Now I feel as though I am in limbo, just waiting for it to recur. I am exercising four hours a week on the elliptical, sleeping well, and starting to socialize again. I am going to assume that your cancer was stage 1 if you only had radiation. Usually stage 1 is "cured" by radiation. I go back to Mayo in August. My PET scan was clear in April, and I had an MRI. I am expecting to have another in August. If I were you, I would call the oncologist and ask what you need to be doing just for your own peace of mind. Thanks so much for reaching out to me. I have wonderful friends and a supportive family, and I hope you do, too.
I was diagnosed with orbital lymphoma last summer. I have no idea as to what stage it was, I was not informed. I had two rounds of radiation and an MRI four weeks after the radiation showed it was gone. I originally went to have my eye lids raised and the Dr noticed the swelling and stated he didn't want to do anything until we found out what was causing the swelling. I had an MRI which indicated need for further diagnostics. Next I had a PET scan which showed positive for lymphoma. I then had a surgical biopsy and then the radiation. I haven't heard from any of my Dr's and wondering if I should contact the Oncologist to see if another PET scan would be recommended.
Did you have an MRI or a PET Scan to determine it was lymphoma? Have your Dr's recommended further testing?
I hope you are doing well, I would like to continue or correspondence. I think it helps to hear from someone else that is going through the same situation.
