Been On Ibrutinib, Venetoclax, Or Obinutuzumab? If So, Any Issues With Nausea Or Hair Loss?

I’m having a ton of nausea even though I’m being told on this clinical trial it’s uncommon to be nauseas. I’m also starting to lose hair which I was told wouldn’t happen. Just looking for community.

Going through chemo treatment, I learned the importance of drinking water... During the infusion and afterwards, to flush the meds through your system as quickly as possible. When I was slack on drinking water, the nausea would start setting in. Drink at least 8-12 ounces per hour, literally, And see if it doesn't help. Also ginger tea and peppermints helped a lot. . .

Carrie it’s been 16 months since I finish my chemo and there are times now that I still get nauseous. It’s most important when you’re going through treatment regardless whether you’re nauseous or not you still need to take that medicine to be ahead of it. As far as losing hair well when I was going through chemo, I lost all my hair just before my second treatment that’s how fast I lost all of it. And I know we’re not all the same in Nor is our treatments or our symptoms. However, I will tell you that it does come back… hair does grow back - sometimes quick sometimes slow. I was fortunate mine came back very fast. It wasn’t the same color and that changed a few times and now it’s growing like normal.. still not the same color but I’ll take what I have and count my blessings. I hope and pray your treatments are successful.

By myself was never in a clinical trial. But I know through my journey I have listened and absorbed like a sponge to what I’ve learned. You will learn what your body tolerates as you go and what works and what doesn’t work and what alleviates those symptoms for you. Nausea is no fun. And it is much better to be ahead of it than behind it. I hope you find that ground quick. xx
