Does Anyone Know If It’s OK To Get The Covid Vaccine.

I have Non-Hodgkins lymphoma…. Waldenstrums Macroglobulemia. I’m in the watchful waiting period as none of my symtoms are bothersome.

About two months after my covid vaccine I had noticed a lump on my neck. Then I had stomach pains. The rest is history. I have been in remission for a year. I will never have any vaccines again.

I am taking Immunotherapy and my Doctor advised against it. He feels with my treatment it may not even be effective

I had 5 COVID shots in total. While I don't think that they caused my NHFL, I do feel like the first 2 shots, kicked my pre-existing problem into high gear. I started feeling off after the shots and progressively getting worse. Within 4 months was feeling pretty sick / started losing weight. Was in the ER by about 6 months. I had the next round of two shots about 4 months after dx, causing some moderate GI side effects. The last one I had was the single shot for the new variants at the end of 2022. I had a major reaction and it upset my innards for about 2 months. No more shots since (no Dr has inquired about my statue or suggested getting the vaccine). I know when my onco first suggested RCHOP and then only Rituximab within a month of dx, I asked about COVID shots. He said that those txs wipe out your immune system, including any immunity built up naturally or from the COVID vaccines. I asked about Evusheld™. It was one of a class of meds authorized by the FDA to prevent COVID in immunocompromised patients. I had to look up the name and found that was taken off the market in early 2023 because it was not effective against the new variants. Apparently, there is a new drug now, Pemgarda. However, I don't know anything about it. Please consult with your Drs. I had asked all of my mine and given the okay before I got any of my shots. They said fine but I thought it was interesting that they never asked me about getting the vaccine. Everyone is different...
