I enjoy going to the pool and meeting up with pool buddies. I also use a neck fan and I'm not good at drinking, especially plain water, so I drink peach flavored Hint water, it helps and occasionally use iv electrolyte powder. I have a countertop ice machine that I put my Hint water in it and eat ice all day, it makes soft ice and is better than just drinking plain water.

Limit time in the heat. Listen to your body. Heat does affect lymphoma patients. Keep hydrated and keep cold drinks in the fridge. We drink flavored waters because they give a taste to the water and I drink more. Limit sugar and be sure to eat something salty yo keep your electrolytes balanced. I put lemons and limes in my flavored waters and keep it close to me outside.

I have Follicular Lymphoma, stage 4 and am under treatment with Rituxin hycela. Yes, the heat definitely affects you when you have lymphoma.
I also burn very easily now. So, lots of water. I also drink Liquid IV to help hydrate. I use cold towels around my neck to cool off. And stay in AC as much as possible!

My tips are;
Don't panic, don't get confused with googling, sorry to say, but drs do not know everything, YES heat most assuredly will do you in, ask questions of Dr. and do not be afraid to get second opinions, it can be critical. Deep breaths when anxious, rest is essential, your friends and family will not understand your fatigue. Give it to God, hand pick your strongest prayer warriors and just BELIEVE!!! Take care of you!

While some of this might sound harsh, it's not meant to be. It's my story and that of so many others. I just wish everyone the very best and ask you to fight your fight, and ask God to be with you, give you calm and peace and to keep your strong. It surely worked for me!! God bless you in whatever lies ahead.
