Hi All! I Am Scheduled To Have A Bone Marrow Biopsy In 2 Weeks. I Am Scared!!! I Have Heard That It Was Very Painful.
Diagnosis is Marginal Zone Lymphoma
Been through fine needle biopsy, excisional biopsy, CT scans, and PET scan.
What are some things I can say or do to get help from doctor as far as anxiety.
Hi Hope
I have had 2 bone marrow biopsies and was also very anxious. It really sounds worse than it is. They gave me very light sedative which worked fine for me. Everyone involved is very caring and helpful. By the way, I’m 80 yrs old and managed to get thru it. Will say prayer all goes well for you. Keep us posted.
Ty, I'm glad you got a good report! I just want this biopsy over with.
Hope… I had a bone marrow biopsy and it went good! My doctor gave a slight sedative that was suppose to relax me (I still felt tense), but they numb the area, which I didn’t even feel them do. They communicate with you through the whole procedure, and tell you to tell them if you feel pain or sharpness… I only felt a little once and they immediately use more lidocaine. Praying it goes well for you! Thankfully, mine results were negative for progression into my bone marrow! ❤️
HopeTharrington,
Hi! I had a bone marrow biopsy and I did well. They numbed up the area good. I felt pressure but that was it. I ask the nurse to hold my hand which she did and that helped also. Good luck. Kelly
It does hurt but not for long a zanex before helps
