Dear Roberta - I had one and only felt the numbing agent needle. Laying on stomach on the table was not comfortable during procedure but no pain. There was a resident learning did it but still no problems. That when I found I was stage 4. On a side note there was the two doing the procedure and one nurse in the room. So when it was over, they said they had gotten a good sample and they left the room. I was still on table, on stomach and my pants unbuttoned. So I was relaxing, 10 minutes passed, 20 minutes then 30. The door opened and nurse came in and she screamed, “Oh my God what are you still doing here?” She had gone to lunch. We had such a great laugh. Best of luck, hope it goes great for you.

I went through bone marrow test. I'm afraid of needles so I told my friend nurse in the hospital and she told the team. They gave me a sensitive and they sedated me just before they started. I felt very little of it. But they also put a port in my chest and neck and they did not give me anything else so I felt like knifes were being used but I was not able to move or say anything.

Hello Roberta… My doctor ordered a Bone Marrow Biopsy because my WBC has been below normal for a few months so he wanted to be sure my FL had not progressed. The procedure went well… They gave me a mild sedative through IV, which is meant to help you relax. I was completely awake, but didn’t really feel much. They numb the area where they will be doing the biopsy. They said if I felt any pain or sharpness to tell them, which only happened once and they immediately use more lidocaine, so it went well. They were so kind and compassionate during the procedure. Also, laying on your stomach they make sure you are very comfortable before they start. Thankfully, my results were negative for progression. Praying for you that it goes well and that you get good results also 🙏
