Has Anyone Had Their Chemo Stopped Because Of Losing Too Much Weight?
I almost did! I had to have lots of dental work done before I started chemo and had problems eating. I started mixing high calorie boost (580 calories) with large milk and upped my calories. It's tricky, but I took all the anti nausea meds, and started eating pudding, and muffins. I wasn't a sweet eater but they sounded good! It's tough I know, I had lost a lot of weight and muscle. I hope you can find some high calorie foods you like! There's probably better answers, but I had problems with losing weight! Hope it gets better for you, blessings and hugs sent
Katie2: Please consider seeking a specialist that has WM experience and not just 'cancer'. WM is a very rare (with 3 sentences giving throughout medical school for Drs.) that many Drs. don't recognize. The International Waldenstroms Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF.com) is the best place to get information.
Thank you Sally for answering! I am giving my husband exactly those things. Cake, donuts, pudding , instant breakfast, anything he will tolerate.
Hi Beth, the reason I even asked this is because a "friend" said it to me after I told them Don lost 17 lbs. In one month between 1st and 2nd treatment. When I asked his Oncologist about the weight loss she didn't seemed that concerned. She did tell him to keep hydrated because of low BP. (He said the liquids make him feel full). And to eat small amount every few hours. Won't give him appetite stimulant as she said it can cause serious blood clots.
Katie- hello- my husband has lost a lot of weight. Just had second r-chop treatment
Just Went To Oncologist
