Newly Diagnosed
Hello all
I was diagnosed with DLBCL 3 days ago. Still waiting for FISH studies to come back prior to treatment.
I am a heart transplant recipient 20 years ago.
I am nervous about what’s the come and wondering if there’s others on this board that have gone through similar.
Thanks , for your reply. I guess this is life and we need to make some lemonade.
I also think a lot of my nervousness comes from reading articles and studies online. I know everyone is different but it’s nice to speak to actual human beings that have gone through this and are now living happy healthy lives.
Zak, I had DLBCL 3 years ago when I was 58. It is okay to be nervous and I was too. Fish test will tell what is further in DLBCL. Most of the time, it is R-CHOP 6 rounds of chemo and methotrexate. I am free of cancer after 3 yrs now. I'd tell to be positive, take food and protein when you will have chemo. Important to keep weight. some would get nausea and some meds will treat it. It's journey. What helped me was also daily walking around when I could. Good luck.
Oh wow how are you feeling? They’ve proposed 6 rounds of chemo every 3 weeks for me. May or May not need Rituximab based on FISH studies. I’m 75 years old, and we found a lesion on my vertebra. I don’t have any other involvement or symptoms. This was discovered because I had taken a few falls this summer
Hi Zak, I was diagnosed with DLBCL on July 10th. Just had my first RCHOP on Thursday and yesterday a IT Lumbar Chemo. It’s all new and definitely a little overwhelming. Hang in there, you’ve got to this!
