Update To A Post About "chemo-brain"
Awhile ago I posted a comment regarding chemo-brain and how the diagnosis was annoying to me. I prefered a more clical term. I was inclined to propose the idea that aphasia was perhaps a big part of it. Still may be and cognitive impairments do lend some credibility to the occurrence. Well I discussed this with my PCP the other day and she assigned this term as a medical term to describe "chemo-brain".
Chemo related cognitive impairment.

Chemo brain is real. Mine is getting better. I try to picture things to remember things, but sometimes I can visulize names or people but can't remember their name-then a couple minutes later the name pops up in my brain. After chemo 14 yrs apart and almost 78 yrs old, I am forunate.
My feeling is you are fortunate.
I believe chem-brain is real. I have been on chemo off and on since 2010- for mantle cell Lymphoma; I was 60 then.
When off chem for months, my mind felt clearer.
Now I am on a daily immunotherapy drug Brukinsa which does not seem to affect my brain. Being 73, I do not seem to be any less quick in mind as my friends.
I have found if I become stressed, I do not think as clearly.
Learning to handle my stress better through relaxation techniques and going to a psychologist to share my anxiety concerns have really helped me deal with life in general.
Good luck and try to stay positive!😊🙏🏻
