Has Anyone Had Car T Cell
I did have neurological symptoms while in the hospital but they were quickly treated and resolved.
Jumping in late... I had CAR-T last June. CRS while in the hospital but Dr's and nurses are prepared and handled it quickly. No side effects once I was released. I won't say CAR-T didn't work for me as tests showed good progress on my disease. However, some new disease has now surfaced in different areas so I'm heading for more treatment, possibly another CAR-T 'like' procedure down the road. More short term I'll have a very short radiation procedure likely followed by come chemo.
How are you doing now?
I had it & it was much easier than chemo. I wrote a lot about it but don't know where my posts are. Good luck!
I had numerous tests: heart, lungs, all kinds of blood work, to determine if I could withstand the treatment. If your doctors don’t think you can endure it, they will not let you get it. I was 75 and didn’t really have another option. I had tried more chemo, but couldn’t tolerate it. I had nothing to lose and would do it again.
I hope you find a treatment or a study that helps you. Please keep us posted.
Theresa, I have been in remission since my CAR-T, but my recuperation has not been easy. Maybe because of my age and weakened state going in. I have felt much better, then got shingles, which affected my right leg. The shingles is almost gone, but now I’m getting strange fevers some evenings. But I don’t want to discourage you, because most patients do very well after CAR-T. I am grateful for it. My remission has given me more time to spend with my young grandchildren.
