I had my first lump in my thigh in the groin area. It was an enlarged lymph node. Then several years later, after having had several treatments for the groin area (radiation), I also had enlarged nodes in my abdomen. Chemotherapy for that. Later I had a large lump in my thigh at my knee and 6 cm above the knee at the back of my leg, also from an enlarged lymph node. Chemotherapy with Rituxan took care of that. So any place you have lymph nodes are targets.
I was diagnosed with indolent NMZL in 2008 and am currently back in remission. Best of luck.

I don't know about where it started, but my first enlarged lymph node was in my though by the groin. I node have 3 of them in the area that are a pretty good size.
