My new PCP insisted that I get a screening mammogram ASAP at our very first meeting because I was overdue. That was just 2 months after major surgery to remove the obstruction the NHFL caused so it was so not on my priority list but she was adamant (and maybe right?!?). It was abnormal. Diagnostic mammo and then ultrasound, led to biopsies - benign. Same thing happened with new areas of concern at the next 6 month check. Two more biopsies - also benign. So 6 month checks continue with additional areas of concern each time but they say it just more of the same - no biopsies. Also have MRIs done once a year. Good for now but considered high risk. Keeping my fingers crossed.
