First Time Doing Chemo. Got People Telling Me My Life Will Get Shorter If I Do. Any Thoughts??
I had my first chemo, fortnightly for 7 months, 28 years ago. Since then I have had a stem cell transplant2 years after that and then breast cancer 11 years later.
Lymphoma returned 6 years ago and the single tumour was removed with no treatment and 3 years ago I again got lymphoma. 2 years if immunotherapy and now watch and wait!!
I am 83 and I am feeling the best I have fit a very long time.
We are. amazing and just have to deal with the hand we are dealt. Chemo saved my life initially. I ‘m grateful for every day I open my eyes.
I believe living with this disease takes a positive mind set and attention to your lifestyle.
Be brave.
Kind wishes

That is a personal question, a question you need to do soul searching to make. I kinda take offense when someone asks such. Because it is apparent that they’ve already made their decision. (No pun intended).
This is a question you should be weighing out w your Oncologist considering all options. ie: best case scenario and worst case. Then speaking with your family, and depending upon your circumstances, perhaps G-D (praying about decision).
No two diagnosis are alike we might have the same symptoms and might have a lump or a growth in the same area, but our circumstances are different, our age, our health side effects, etc. so it’s not really a fair question to ask it’s your choice. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change my decision. 🙏🏻
Awesome for sharing this I zm in a delema about chemo also everyone says quality of life don't do it I have bone cancer and non hodgkkns lymphoma stage 4 follucar ..sk promising news ..will probably do chemo and stay in the life game
Um no. Not true. I had stage 3 breast cancer 22 years ago and still here (5 months of chemo) only to be diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in December. Just got done with 6 rounds of chemo. When I had BC I had people trying to discourage from surgery and chemo but couldn’t take that chance since my kids were 3 and 5 and put my faith and trust in my doctor and God and thankfully I’m still here. Talk with your doctor and do what’s best for you - not the naysayers.
Thanks all for the feedback. Really appreciate it. For Rebecca, what do you mean by "... dx or tx"?
I Wish To Usk.limphoma Is Like Other Cancers.cos I Talk With A Nurse And She Told Me Limphoma Is Not Like Other Cancers.
