My Memory Since Chemo Is Getting Worse. Anyone Else?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lebanon, ME

My memory since chemo is getting worse. If I don't do something I forget. If I pick something up to take it somewhere, get distracted, put it down I forget where and even what I was planning to do. I'm wondering if others have this experience.

I also have memory loss. Not to be funny but I can’t even remember when it started. It’s gotten worse in the last few months. If one of my friends brings a friend over to my apartment, they’ll introduce me to them and tell me their name . When they come the next time I look at them and ask if I know you? They say they have and I have to explain what’s going on and they are very understanding.
I’ve gone through R Chop Chemo in August of 2018. I don’t remember why I go into a room to get something. I also have had stomach issues called Gastroparesis where my stomach muscles are weak. My body and muscles hurt all the time. This has taken a toll on me all around

Cognitive dysfunction otherwise known as "chemobrain" is quite common - https://news.cancerconnect.com/treatment-care/s... Best C

I was a Sr Engineer... I had to go on disability because of the chemo brain. I had to perform tasks 3 or 4 times to ensure that they were correct. Good news is (if it really is), I was able to get SSD very quickly with cognitive impairment as the reason. I loved my job and really wish I could have continued working for another several years.
