I Have Been Diagnosed With DLBCL And Am Currently Receiving EPOH-R For A Treatment.I Am Wondering If Anyone Is Taking Supplements

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

See question above. Has anyone discussed with a nutritionist or oncology doctor taking a multiple vitamin, vitamin D2 or K3, or any other supplement either recommended or thought to assist in the recovery or treatment plan. I have done some reading and some supplements act as blood thinners, which certainly wouldn’t help in my case. Looking for some insight from those with experience, any help would be appreciated!

Hi Joseph, When I was diagnosed with DLBCL I requested a consult with a dietitian to look at the supplements that I had been taking. She dame all of them to be fine to keep taking. Those include a multivitamin, turmeric, Optiferin-C, B6 with magnesium, and omega-3. I have not gotten on B12 for fatigue, but I know plenty of people who have and it does help. I would say check with a dietitian and your oncologist just to be sure.

Hello Joseph, my dx DLBCL I had a vitamin D deficiency and a vitamin K deficiency. I was advised to take a supplement of both. I’ve never had any experience of blood thinning at all, however, that doesn’t mean that it will be the same for you so I definitely communicate with your oncologist.
Also for the fatigue, I started taking a supplement of vitamin B 12 which made a huge difference. I hope this helps.

JosephSikora,
Hi and welcome to the site. Everyone on here is so kind, supportive and helpful. I have/had DLBCL stage IV and had treatments of RCHOP chemo. I've been in remission for 3 1/2years. I take multi vitamin, B12, D3 with calcium, C, Balance of Nature. I hope this helps answer your question. Kelly
