Has Anyone Gone Through EPOH-R Treatment For DLBCL?
I have changed treatments and am now doing R-EPOH due to some elevated markers in the detailed pathology. It was done out of an abundance of caution from my Care team and after discussing it with my wife and some consultants, it seemed the right course of action. It requires me to receive this in the hospital for 5 days, every 3 weeks. Not ideal, but we will need to do what we think is best for a cure on our journey. This may be a repeat post, but I am curious if anyone out there is doing/has… read more
Hi Joseph. My husband had this treatment in 2020. He ha DLBCL with double hit pathology. His chemo regime was the same. 5 days hospital stay for 6 treatments. They were rough after the 3rd treatment, going to be honest here, however because the treatment is so intensive the hospital stay is the best because they control and prevent as many side effects as possible making going home easier. It’s a very hard chemo on your immune system. Follow all your going home instructions. Keep anyone that is sick or symptomatic with a virus or sickness away. Rest, eat well small meals if you have to, lots of fluids, try stay active and stay positive. Find some good hobbies like reading, puzzles etc. Don’t give up. He could only tolerate 5 treatments. He’s doing well, however he has an indolent low grade NHL as well that is showing signs of activity now and is going through testing. He is in the midst of testing now. His hematologist really believes it’s not the aggressive lapse as he has no symptoms. Wishing you the very best and will keep you in my prayers
Thank You for the candid information. I didn’t have the double hit but had high markers so the team thought this was the way to go. I appreciate the information.
