Approximately what is the life span for someone who has gone into remission after chemotherapy?
Agree...do not ck the internet. Close friend in remission going on 25 yrs.
I would talk to the oncologist since everyone is different and so is every type of Lymphoma. They should be able to give you the best info based on your treatment and health. Best wishes for many years of remission
The internet is making me crazy anxious.
Thanks everyone for your answers! I'm sorry that I haven't responded lately. He's showing symptoms again and has a nodule on his left lung now to. He was denied disability even though he's considered terminally ill and we had to get a lawyer to fight his case.
I asked a similar question of my oncologist. He said that they think in terms of treating whatever comes up after remission. In addition, he said that that approach can go on for years, but the interval between reoccurrence becomes shorter. Ultimately, something secondary, like pneumonia (because of the repressed immunity) will be the endgame. I am in remission from NHL - so his comments are based on the fact that there is no cure. Don't check the internet for the life span info -- it is out of date on most sites and is also general, a statistic, not a specific number. Plan on a long life after chemo - I am 76, and I am planning to see all my grandchildren graduate from college -- the youngest is 8.
