My Husband Was Diagnosed With DLBCL
His is a triple hit, stage 2. He just finished treatment #5 of 6. RCHOP chemo. Biopsy was done last Friday, The report shows unchanged. It is only in his right groin lymphnode. We are so grateful for that. He caught it early thank God. He was told his is extremely rare and very aggressive. He is still working and doing well considering what he's going through. My question is:
He is experiencing extreme dizziness when standing and walking. Has anyone has this side effect?
Yes the RCHOP causes me dizziness but I also have low blood pressure especially when I stand. So have them check his BP going from a laying position then sitting then standing. In the meantime be very careful not to fall. If he does fall and hits his head he MUST go to ER for a CT scan. Have his red blood cells and platelets checked in his bloodwork as they can cause dizziness when low.
CindyBlow,
Hi and welcome to the site. Everyone on here is so nice, helpful and supportive. I have/had DLBCL stage IV and also had 6 treatments of RCHOP chemo. My first thought is he dehydrated? Does he need to drink more fluids? Secondly, the evening of my treatments I too was a bit dizzy and weak. My husband had to hp me to the bathroom. Then I continued to feel better as days went by..Make sure he is eating protein also. Kelly
CindyBlow,
Hi!! I hope the clinical trial goes well for your husband. And, that that spot is just scar tissue. So glad your husband is doing great. You made my day he as hearing that!! I hope you are doing well also. Being a caregiver is difficult also. Thank you so much for the update. Sending you a hug. Kelly
Thank you, Kelly & Linda, and everyone on this site for your support. I love being able to read other's stories and share. It is very comforting to me. My husband just wrapped up all of his treatments. Latest PET shows no change after R-Chop/Radiation x 15/Car-T Cell transplant. We did a "Clinical Trial" on Tuesday for a new test that included 4FN imaging agent + PET-Scan to see if the Lymph node that is still showing no change on the regular PET -Scan could actually be scar tissue and not still cancer. We are hopeful, in the meantime we are getting back to living again post treatment. MD Anderson is the best! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone on this site, patients and caregivers. My husband is doing great and eating lots of good protein, no alcohol or sugar and lots of water.
CindyBlow,
Hi! Sorry I'm not sure what that means bit the word "no" must be good I hope. I know it's difficult on the support person too. My husband was mine. And I was one for both of my parents during their cancer journeys. I know you need a lot of patience. I know my emotions were all over the place. Sometimes still are!! Your role is such an important one. I hope you are taking care of yourself too. Good luck on the interpretation of his biopsy results. Kelly
