I Got Diagnosed With NHL Follicular Lymphoma In 2020 And Under Watch & Wait Since Then Without Any Symptoms And Stayin Very Healthy Now
But recently my cervical, above shoulder and occipital lymph nodes got swollen for the last 30 days without symptoms. Actually I am fit, healthy and hitting my gym regularly. My question is should I stop wait & watch and opt for treatment of Betamustine, Rituximab therapy as my Doctor suggested at the beginning when diagnosed, but he followed wait and watch till any symptoms appear. Can you guide me in this situation.
When I first went to the doctor my lymph node had been enlarged for over a year (or even more 😳) but I still felt good. I was diagnosed with stage 3 (FL) and sent to chemo. So you better see your doctor and check.
You need a biopsy on new nodes to check if lymphoma transitioned to a more aggressive form such as a higher grade (I assume your low grade 1-2) or diffuse B cell. If it remains a low grade, they usually recommend treatment if you become symptomatic, having complications and if nodes are over a certain size. Always get a 2nd opinion. Recently was treated with Bendamustine & Gazyva (immunotherapy, had Rituximab in the past) and in remission once again! You may only need to be treated with immunotherapy/Rituximab).
