When I was diagnosed with DLBCNHL in 2017, I had been plant-based for 4 years. I went through my chemo maintaining a plant based diet, however I did have an occasional egg white omelette, although it never really sat right with me. You should take Metamucil every evening at bedtime even if you are not constipated because the fiber helps clean the crap (literally!) out of your body. It's just as important to stay active as it is to rest. Except for the day after my R-CHOP chemo when I felt bloated (never nauseous) I would walk 2-3 miles a day. It is good for your body and your mind. It is important to consume adequate calories to maintain or increase your weight while going through treatment. Other than the day after treatment, my appetite remained robust and I enjoyed eating more food than I typically would without worrying about gaining weight. (Downside is I didn't stop eating when treatment ended and I had to cut back in order to maintain a healthy weight!). I have been in remission for over 6 years and am still following a plant-based diet. My oncologist said I was the healthiest cancer patient she ever treated! That said, you should follow your own personal instincts and preferences and eat the foods that appeal to you and agree with you. Listen to the messages your body sends you... they are real and true. Probably some trial and error until you hit your stride. Sending prayers and best wishes for your speedy and complete recovery!
