Has Anyone With DLBCL Have To Have CNS Prophylaxis? If So How Effective Was It And What Were The Side Effects?
You got this! I feel like it’s one more arrow we can use to slay the dragon!!
Thank you so much they said they were going to try it through intravenous drip but might have to be through the lumbar but will definitely ask for a sedative because my back hurts enough already.

Hi Bernadette. I had CNS Prophylaxis treatment during my EPOCH-R protocol. For me, it was a preventative so the cancer wouldn’t spread to the CNS or brain.
Because I was going through treatment at the time and experiencing “normal” chemo side effects, all I can say is I really didn’t experience anything new after it!
One word of advice - ask the Dr. for a mild sedative before the procedure. The mere thought of a lumbar puncture made me nervous!
Also, it actually wasn’t that bad at all!!
I've had 2 occurrences of CNS lymphoma .I've had a total of 13 Methotrexate treatments each time I was in hospital for a week and then I had Stem Cell Transplant that I was in hospital for about a month. My Rituxan and Tebador treatments didn't require any hospital time.
How many treatments did you have and how long were you hospitalized after each treatment
