Side Effects After Fourth And Last R-CHOP Plus Two Cycles Of Lumbar Cns Prophylaxis

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I suffered after cycle 1, then after 2 and 3 I felt much better but 4 really hit my blood cells pretty hard and therefor my overall energy level is poor. Anybody else with similar experience? And what did you do?

Nusch,
I also had 4 infusions of RCHOP followed by two rituximab only infusions. Truthfully, once I recovered from my 4th RCHOP infusion the two rituximab infusions minus the CHOP felt like a cakewalk recovery compared to RCHOP recovery after each infusion . Rituximab without chemo was very doable . Truthfully, with each week passing that I was out of chemotherapy, I felt better and better. My blood counts were back to normal approximately 3 months after my last infusion of rituximab . I’m currently still in a remission and living every single minute of this time feeling good. Prayerfully, it continues.
Hang in there, stay hydrated and know you certainly will see the light at the end of this dark tunnel soon. Please keep the team updated. 🤗 😊 Charlene

Many many thx KellyS and I wish you lifelong remission! I read your words and have to smile. My bloodwork is also „nowwhere“, especially leukocytes and platelets. But also red blood cells are significantly below normal, even with Aranesp. Leukocytes today are back to 1.900 (from 300), normal starts at 4.000. I’ll do the same; don’t meet people inside, wear a mask, when I go shopping, clean my hands all the time. Hope I’ll recover soon.

By the way: I’m done after 4 R-CHOP. Just two more Rituximab.
