Is An Occasional Glass Of Red Wine A No-no?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Milwaukee, WI

My FL is being addressed with rituxin but waiting for my next pet scan. Anyone had this treatment?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member

Ironically, a medical study exists that reports minor red wine consumption decreases risk of NHL. Now that you have NHL though IDK for sure but would tread lightly.

Length Of Infusion Time?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Louisville, KY

Doctor says my day 1 infusion of Treanda will take six hours, then day 2, Rituxan is only 2 hours. How long did/does your infusion take? Six hours sounds really long.

Does Anyone Have Cancer In Their Bone Marrow?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Lachine, QC

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Marginal Zone lymphoma. I was told that I have cancer in my bone marrow- about 10-20%- My oncologist put me on the watch and wait as I have no symptoms. Does anyone else have cancer in their bone marrow, and did you receive any treatment (chemo?)

When I was diagnosed in January 2023 it was in my bone marrow and the oncologist said it was stage 4 SMZL. That was on a Friday. By Monday I was on chemo and immunotherapy. Rituxin and Bedamustine… read more

I Don't Sense The Heat From Spicy Food! Anybody Else?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Louisville, KY

I have NH B cell Lymphoma, have had 5 cycles of Rituxan and Treanda.

This is not a problem, just odd. I've never had a high tolerance for spicy food, now I'm eating food that brings tears to my husband's eyes! Nothing else about food seems different. Has anyone had this happen? Know the reason for it?

I realize I'm quite late to the party here. It's been a ruff 6mo's, due to an enlarged lymph node in my throat, unfortunately, I think my cancer is flaring again, not gna say it's back, because we all… read more

Last B And R Treatment 3mo Ago. Big Increase In My Husband’s LD Level From Oncology Appt Yesterday. He’s Not Having Any Worsened Symptoms.

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Portland, OR

The oncologist didn’t mention this increase in LD at the appointment, I can’t remember if that’s a result that comes in right away. My husband is a warrior; he’s working 40hrs/wk, tries to walk/run 5-10 miles a day, and generally has an optimistic attitude. He pretty much crashes at home and rests as he needs. I’m the one who pays attention to the labs and numbers. This increase LD has me concerned. We may hear from the doctor today and if not I’ll reach out, but in the meantime I’d like to ask… read more

My Nephew Was Just Diagnosed With ALS. Can Anyone Tell Me More About This Variant? Also, I’m Noticing A Trend In My Family.

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’
Sebastopal CA

My older brother is on “wait and see” and immunotherapy. My first cousin has MLL, had had two bone marrow transplants, and now not making any new RBC’s. He’s very sick and has been hospitalized for weeks. My nephew is just beginning chemotherapy (not sure which treatment plan, except it will be infusions, beginning with a 6 month treatment plan. He’s at the cancer center in Washington State close to Seattle. He has a history of mental illness, and substance abuse/addiction as well. He was in the… read more
